Intuition, not Rationalization, is the best instrument for attacking a complex problem or project, but only after all the parameters and the alternatives have been acquired and firmly impressed on the mind.
This was the startling conclusion and recommendation of Prof. Gerhard Roth of the Brain Research Institute of the University of Bremen in his lecture on the structure and function of the brain at the KNOWLEDGE SHARING FORUM of the COLLEGE OF COMPLEX PROJECT MANAGERS that was held in Frankfurt, 4-5 April 2008.
We would also like to mention here the lecture of Mr. Manfred Saymisch on “Mastering Complex Projects by Project Management 2nd order (PM-2) – Synergy and Integration Potentials of CSPM and PM-2”.
The meeting was also attended by Veikko Välilä, President of IPMA, and by several IPMA members. During the meeting there was strong interest in a presentation on the 22nd IPMA World Congress in Rome, where one of the 12 Streams will be dedicated to COMPLEX PROJECT MANAGERS.
