Project management will play a key role in public sectors and in projects financed by international institutions.

In many countries the Public Administrations are being increasingly involved in the development of capital projects having two basic necessities: the completion within assigned times and the respect of stringent economic and financial constraints.

PA show therefore an increasing interest for the application of adequate project management methods and tools to improve their effectiveness in the planning and execution of complex projects, but not only. More in general PA is looking in a wider way to PM as a tool for a better organization of their activity.

For all these reason a specific stream of the Rome IPMA WC will pay special attention to the development of project management approach in public sectors (Infrastructures, Education, Health, Sport, Defence, Urban Development). The participants to the Congress will be given the possibility to compare experiences, techniques, tools and operative procedures and to select those which are best suited to match the peculiarities of the public sectors.

Public and private operators, driven by a common interest on many key subjects, will also receive several occasions of fruitful meetings and discussions from the Congress programme and organization (only for this stream official languages are English and Italian with simultaneous translation).
